We were honoured to welcome the Lunar New Year blessings at the shop with an amazing lion dance ceremony! 🦁🥬🧨

During the tradition of “Cai Qing,” the lion eats the lettuce (which sounds like “wealth” in Chinese), grabs a red envelope for good luck, then shakes/splats the lettuce back out — symbolising spreading good fortune, prosperity, and abundance to our business and community in the year ahead.

Today marks the final trading day of the old Sydney Fish Market — a place that has been part of our daily routine, our early mornings, and our family history for decades.

For the past 54 years, we’ve had the privilege of purchasing seafood through @poulos_bros_seafoods — more than a wholesaler to us. A constant. A relationship built on trust, respect, and generations working side by side.

Here’s a quick and easy way to bring out the best in fresh fish:

🥢 500–600g barramundi fillet or cutlet
🍯 Honey
